STOCK EXCHANGES AUSTRIA
EXAA - Energy Exchange Austria
Exchange trading is a popular instrument for optimizing trading portfolios, i.e., the fine-tuning of the hourly profiles to avoid balancing energy costs and to exploit the arbitrage possibilities. On EXAA, traders have the possibility of placing orders with narrower spreads, i.e., with more attractive price limits, before they have to close the remaining gaps at 12:00 hrs on EXAA. This helps to keep prices very stable – even in the case of low daily trading volumes – without the incidence of price anomalies in individual hours or blocks that occur repeatedly in electricity trading.
