Ekomuseum nedre Ätradalen
Ekomuseum nedre Ätradalen is an ecomuseum, founded in 1986. It consists of 71 locations in the valleys of Ätran and Suseån. Among the locations are Hagbard's Gallow, Larsagården and Bocksten Bog. The museum is run by Intresseföreningen Ekomuseum nedre Ätradalen, with subsidies from the County Administrative Board, Falkenberg and Svenljunga Municipality.

Göteborg Museum of Art
The Göteborg Museum of Art at Götaplatsen, Gothenburg, is renowned for its collection of Nordic art from around the close of the 19th century. A must see is the lavisciously decorated Fürstenberg Gallery, named after a leading Gothenburg art donor, Pontus Fürstenberg and his wife Göthilda. Among the artists showcased one can mention Carl Larsson, Anders Zorn, and P.S. Kröyer.

Fjärilshuset is a national museum with the buildings being held privately and the land leased by Fjarilshuset Haga Tradgard AB. Haga Tradgard is successively being restored so that it mirrors its historical continuity.

Jamtli is the name of the regional museum of Jämtland and Härjedalen in central Sweden. It consists of an open air museum with historical buildings, and an indoor museum with both permanent and temporary exhibitions. “Jamtli” literally means “hillside of Jämtland” in the local dialect. Since the 1980s, the museum has been working with living history in a project entitled “Jamtli Historyland.”

Kingdom of Crystal
The Kingdom of Crystal is a geographical area today containing a total of 15 glassworks in the municipalities of Emmaboda, Nybro, Uppvidinge and Lessebo in southern Sweden. Their history can be traced back to the 18th century at least. The glassworks have become part of the culture of Sweden; examples can be found in many Swedish homes, recognizable by a small sticker at the bottom with the name Orrefors, Kosta, etc.

Kulturen is a museum in Lund, Sweden, founded in 1882. The complete name of the museum is Kulturhistoriska föreningen för södra Sverige. It was founded by Georg J:son Karlin who also was the manager until 1933. Karlin saw the old farming society disappear and wanted to preserve its buildings, tools, furniture and clothes to the future. His work has resulted in a huge and unique collection of more than two million items. Kulturen is the second-oldest open air museum in Sweden.

Marcus Wallenberg-hallen
The Marcus Wallenberg-hallen (Marcus Wallenberg Hall) is a vehicle museum in Södertälje, in the Swedish province of Sörmland. This name is an abbreviation of Södermanland, which means Southern mans land.

Motala Longwave Transmitter
The Motala longwave transmitter is a broadcasting station for longwave, established in 1927 in Motala, Sweden. Its aerial is of the T-type spun between two free standing steel framework towers, which still exist today. The transmitter was in service until 1962, when the new Orlunda longwave transmitter went in service. In 1991 the Swedish broadcasting company shut down its longwave transmitter. Nowadays the transmitter is an interesting technical museum, from which sometimes also transmissions with low power in the longwave range take place.

Museum of Sketches for Public Art
The Museum of Sketches for Public Art (Swedish Skissernas museum - Arkiv för dekorativ konst, also known in English as the Archive for Decorative Art) is an art museum at Lund University in Sweden, dedicated to the collection and display of cartoons and sketches for contemporary monumental and public art, such as frescos, sculpture and reliefs.


Museum of Work
The Museum of Work, or Arbetets museum, is a museum located in Norrköping, Sweden. The museum can be found in the 19th century building The Iron in the Motala ström river in central Norrköping.

Nordic Watercolour Museum
The Nordic Watercolour Museum in Skärhamn on the island Tjörn on the west coast of Sweden, 70 kilometers north of Gothenburg, opened in 2000. It's a unique combination of museum, artist workshop and research facility. Among the exhibitions one can mention the Anders Zorn-exhibit.

Pythagoras Mechanical Workshop Museum
Pythagoras Mechanical Workshop Museum is located in the premises of the earlier engine factory Pythagoras at the town of Norrtälje in the province of Uppland in Sweden. At the museum, production facilities and working conditions from the first half of the 20th century are on display. The factory produced hot bulb engines and spare parts for them from 1908 up to closure of the workshop in 1979.

Swedish Air Force Museum
The Swedish Air Force Museum (in Swedish, Flygvapenmuseum) is located at Malmen, just outside of Linköping, Sweden. Malmen is where Baron Carl Cederström, nicknamed the "Flyer Baron" founded his flying school in 1912. Along with the Swedish Army Museum (Armémuseum) in Stockholm, and the Marinmuseum at Karlskrona, it constitutes the government agency Statens försvarshistoriska museer ("Swedish Museums of the Defence Forces").

Sörmlands Museum
The Sörmlands museum is the county museum of Södermanland County in Sweden. The institution is responsible for preservation and conducting research in the area of the cultural history and archaeology of the county, including the medieval city of Nyköping.

Textilmuseet i Borås
Textilmuseet i Borås is a museum of textile history in Borås, Sweden, once the textile capital of Sweden. Textilmuseet i BoråsThe textilmuseet, is an old textile factory that has been turned in to a museum. In a broad sense this museum stand for and is apart off Borås's history, around the years of 1900 Boras flourished and many different industries moved into the town making it a city.

The Upplandsmuseet is the county museum of Uppsala County in Sweden. The institution is responsible for preservation and conducting research in the area of the cultural history and archaeology of the county, including the city of Uppsala (parts of the historical province of Uppland, from which the museum takes its name, belong to Stockholm County).

Vasa Museum
The Vasa Museum is Scandinavia's most visited museum, located in Stockholm, capital of Sweden. The Museum was inaugurated in 1990. In the large shiphall stands the warship Vasa - the only remaining, intact 17th century ship in the world. The lower rig has been rebuilt, complete with masts, stays and shrouds.

Nationalmuseum is situated on Blasieholmen, facing the Royal Palace. Nationalmuseum is not only Sweden's largest art museum. In itself, the building is a striking feature of the Stockholm cityscape. Its architectural design, modelled on that of Florentine and Venetian Renaissance buildings, evokes Italy - the home of the fine arts.

National Museum of Science and Technology
The National Museum of Science and Technology was founded in 1924 by the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences, the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise (formerly the Federation of Swedish Industries), the Swedish Inventors' Association and the Swedish Association of Graduate Engineers (formerly Svenska Teknologföreningen – roughly, the Swedish Association of Technologists).

Museum of Foteviken
The Museum of Foteviken is the centre of all the different historical acti-vities and re- enactment taking place at Foteviken. The Museum of Foteviken is open to the public all the year round, but special opening hours apply for the Viking Reserve.

Moderna Museet
When Moderna Museet opened in the drill hall on Skeppsholmen, Stockholm, on 9 May 1958, discussions about starting a new museum for 20th century art had been going on for decades. "The national art collection emanates from the Royal Collection and from King Gustaf III's collection of antiquities, which was declared a public art collection by His Royal Majesty already in 1792 - making it the first public art museum in Europe outside Italy.

Skansen is the oldest open-air museum in the world, founded in 1891. Skansen is also a zoological park. It is located on the island of Djurgården, a royal park near the centre of Stockholm. Skansen is open every day of the year, except Christmas Eve.

Match Musem
The Match Musem in Jönköping is the worlds only match museum. The museum is located in the beautyful building that once was the first match factory in Jönköping.

Stockholm City Museum

Automobile and Aviation Museum

Bror Hjorths Hus
Bror Hjorths Hus, (Bror Hjorth's House) is a museum of the artist Bror Hjorth (1894-1968), located in Uppsala, Sweden. The museum has a large collection of Hjorth's work. The house which was build in 1943 was for 25 years the home and studio of Bror Hjorth. It became a museum in 1978.

Kalmar County Museum
The collections at Kalmar County Museum are mainly of a cultural and historical nature. The items date from the Early Stone Age to modern times. The museum has its origins in Kalmar Archaeological Association, founded in 1871.
