Museo de la Palabra y la Imagen
The Museo de la Palabra y la Imagen (the Museum of the Word and the Image) is an innovative museum located in San Salvador, El Salvador. It was founded in the early 1990s as a museum dedicated to collecting and preserving memories of the Salvadoran civil war, incorporating memories across the political spectrum. The general enthusiasm of the public quickly prompted the MUPI to expand and it now includes a variety of exhibits that deal with various moments in the nation's past.
Anthropological Museum of El Salvador
The Anthropological Museum of El Salvador is located in San Salvador's upscale Colonia San Benito. The new museum traces the history of our land from prehistoric through pre-Hispanic Mayan, times then onwards to post-Hispanic Colonial and up to the modern times, a fascinating journey through the history and culture of a little-known land.
Museum of the Revolution
Museum of the Revolution is a museum commemorating the antecedents and events of Salvadoran Civil War, which took place from approximately 1980 until 1992. The museum is located in Perquín, in the Morazán Department of El Salvador. This area was dominated during the war by the Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front (FMLN).
