Lahti Furniture
Since the 1950s, Lahti has been the centre of the Finnish furniture industry; still today, approximately half of the employees in the sector work in the Lahti economic region. Two of the largest Finnish furniture companies, Isku and Asko, have been established in Lahti, the city of carpenters. Isku is still today the largest Finnish furniture industry family business. The fame of traditional carpentry is also upheld in Lahti by an association of ca. 50 carpenters, Pro Puu (‘Pro Wood’). The exchanging exhibitions in the Pro Puu Gallery present use of wood in the light of various techniques.

Hkt Korhonen
The furniture factory Korhonen was established in 1910, when along with three other carpenters, Otto Korhonen bought the Carpenters Co-operative Society, which operated at Uudenmaankatu 7 Turku. The products manufactured in the factory were quite diverse right from the beginning, consisting of doors, windows and furniture designed according to the style of that age. The end of 1920 united the two visionaries of Finnish furniture designing, Otto Korhonen and Alvar Aalto. Aalto participated in two architectural competitions in the 1920's, the designing and planning of Maalaistentalo (Countrymen's House) in South West Finland and the Paimio sanatorium, and won them both. Hundreds of individual pieces of furniture were needed. During 1929-1933 their collaboration yielded a collection of armchairs, a circular table and different tables to the patient rooms and staff facilities.

The frame material in our furniture is light 50 mm cellular panel, which can be painted or coated with laminate or with birch, beech, cherry tree or oak veneer. The shelves are made of bending resistant wooden cellular panel or sheet metal. Surfaces with special requirements regarding wear resistance can be coated with 6 mm Corian panel.

Based in Fiskars, Finland, Nikari is a manufacturer of high-quality furniture and interiors made of Finnish wood. The Managing Director Kari Virtanen is a cabinetmaker, who founded his company in 1967. Iondent Oy was founded 1981, manufacturing furniture for dental clinics. The original idea was to improve the ergonomics of dental clinics, looking at it from the views of both the patients and the dental staff. The Business Plan was born when dentist Tapio Lempiäinen noticed during his line of work, that suitable clinic furniture was not available. This caused non-ergonomic ways and habits of working. This discovery led into a development finally resulting in starting of an own company, Iondent. Taledent is a dental clinic with all the latest equipment and it is possible to see our solutions in practice there. Taledent is also owned and managed by Tapio Lempiäinen.
