DESCRIPTION:The Eye Center's first eye mission was to the independent island nations of St. Kitts and Nevis under the guidance of International Eye Care of Bethesda, Maryland. Not knowing what to expect, I left the rains of Oregon for the sunny Caribbean. Though often thought of as a sunny vacation paradise, per capita income was less than $1000 per year.
