The Central Bank of the Republic of San Marino was established through a combination between the Istituto di Credito Sammarinese (a body with public and private shareholders acting as a central bank) and the Inspectorate for Credit and Currencies (a Public Administration Office charged with supervisory activities and with combating money-laundering).

In 1920, 18 March, it came to the conclusion of where the company was named Anonima AGRICULTURAL BANK OF THE REPUBLIC OF SAN MARINO. To make it serve the greater economic well-being of the Republic, offering cooperation and aid to those nell'operoso and productive labour camp , industries and diversified trade activities, contributed to strengthen the harmonious relations of social classes and increase overall demand.
