Amoud University  
Amoud University is a university located in Borama. It was officially inaugurated on November 4th, 1998. It is the first post-war institution of higher learning to be established in Somalia. The initiative of establishing a university at the famous valley of Amoud was taken by a group of Awdalian intellectuals living and working in the Gulf states. Now, the university has six functioning faculties

East Africa University  
The University of East Africa was established in 1963 and served Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. In 1970 it was split into three independent universities:

Mogadishu University  
Vision Mogadishu University will be the premier non-state university in Somalia dedicated to providing affordable and accessible high quality education attuned to the national values of the Somali people.
