Djibouti (HAN) January 29, 2006 - The Vice-chancellor, University of Djibouti Aidid spoke about the structures of the new University of Djibouti. The Vice-chancellor: The decree adopted in the Council of Ministers of January 3, 2006, created the University of Djibouti, and set up a provisional and transitory administration one duration maximum one year. The three faculties which deliver the lesson and which replaced the old institutes. It is: the Faculty of Arts, languages and social sciences, the tertiary technological die and management, economy, Faculty of Law, and finally industrial technological die and Faculty of Science. The creation of the University Research center is a suggestion of the ' think tank ' on the development of the higher education instituted by the Minister for National Education and the Higher education. (HAN photo) The vice-chancellor of the University of Djibouti Mr. Aïdid Aden Guedi approaches below the organizational aspect, the dies of lesson, the services common to these last, the respective roles of the scientific and teaching council as well as the university research center. It is this provisional administration which received the mandate to propose with the Government, within this one year, the permanent structures of the University of Djibouti. The provisional Organization includes/understands a direction made up of a vice-chancellor who directs the University, with authority on the whole of the personnel of the University and which is directing appropriations. The Secretariat-general and administrative services (personnel, financier, schooling and maintenance) which assist the vice-chancellor in all the administrative domains and teaching. The four common services which are: the University Library, the data-processing resource and Research center, the University Research center and the Center of continuous Training. Moreover, the University has a Board of directors and a countable agency, like all the publicly-owned establishments but, also, the Scientific and Teaching Council, which is an innovation and where are represented all the components of the university community (administrations, professors and students) and of its partners in the public and deprived professional fields.
