UNYT has been the result of my vision but also of the vision of a group of remarkable scientists of the Albanian academic community headed by Mr Gramoz Pashko with the aim to give the young people of Albania the opportunity to study following the American standards of higher education, at a reasonable cost and also to obtain an American degree while studying in Albania.
Agricultural University of Tirana
The Agricultural University of Tirana (AUT) is the unique center for undergraduate and graduate studies, scientific research, training and extension in the area of agriculture and food (Agronomy, Horticulture and Plant Protection, Economy and Agrarian Policy, Agro-environment and Ecology, Agro-food Technology, Animal Husbandry and Business, Aquaculture and Fishery Management, Forestry Engineering, Veterinary Medicine etc.).

In the academic year 2007-2008, the scheme will be offered to candidates from Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, the Province of Kosovo (which is at present under United Nations administration), the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Montenegro. There are five scholarships available in this round. The scheme offers the opportunity for the beneficiaries to spend a part of each year at Staffordshire University but also requires them to complete most of their research work in their own institution, thus ensuring that they will remain in the region and continue to be active members of their home institutions. The beneficiaries must undertake to remain in the region for at least two years after the completion of their doctoral programme.
