Universidad Bicentenaria de Aragua

Universidad Católica Cecilio Acosta  
The Catholic University of Tachira is a higher education institution born of the apostolic boldness of the Diocese of San Cristobal who saw the need for this instrument of evangelization of culture in the region tachirense. It received the support and commitment of the Society of Jesus, through the Andres Bello Catholic University, who a few years after he started his activities was launched to begin Extension Tachira, created by the decision of the National Universities dated July 10, 1962. The extension was born on September 22, 1962, becoming the first institution of higher education in the state Tachira.

Universidad Centro Occidental Lisandro Alvarado

The now called University of Los Andes (ULA) had its origins in the year 1785, dated March 29, when the Bishop of Merida Fray Juan Ramos de Lora established a House of Studies Seminar high then, whose name was that of Royal College Seminary of St. Bonaventure Merida, would become Institute. On September 21, 1810 the Supreme Governing Board of the province issued the decree creating the Royal University of San Buenaventura Merida de los Caballeros, giving the seminar's grace University, with all the privileges of Caracas and the power to confer "All minor and major degrees in Philosophy, Medicine, Canon and Civil Law and Theology."

El 17 de Septiembre de 1997, el Presidente de la República Dr. Rafael Caldera emitió la autorización de funcionamiento de la Universidad Privada “José Antonio Páez”, con sede en la ciudad de Valencia. Fueron largos años de lucha, de trabajo serio el que hubo de llevarse adelante para alcanzar a fin esta autorización. Ciertamente el doce de noviembre de 1991, seis años antes de concretarse la autorización, el Ing. Pedro Vivas González y la Ing. Franca Ribaldi Langella, deciden crear una Asociación Civil con el nombre de Universidad José Antonio Páez, cuyos objetivos eran y son: promover y desarrollar la docencia a nivel universitario; promover la formación de recurso humano a nivel de postgrado; promover las actividades de investigación científica y tecnológicas tomando en cuenta las necesidades establecidas por los organismos de planificación de este sector; promover las actividades de extensión y promover la producción industrial a objeto de generar recursos.

Universidad Nacional Experimental "Simón Rodriguez"  
The University Simon Rodriguez (USR) is born with the Core Caricuao in October 1971, then-President Rafael Caldera ordered the organization of a new university in the capital region. The Organizing Committee was formed with seven members, all appointed by the Executive Vice-president, Eddie Morales Crespo, Member; Castle Henrique Pinto, Member; Jose Luis Salcedo Bastardo, Member; Antonio Moles Caubet, Member and Jose Enrique Yáber, replaced by Hector Font vials. As executive secretary was appointed counsel internationalist Luis Herrera Marcano and forth with him were hired advisers, among those named Martin Oropeza, Silvio Llanos de la Hoz, Andrs Halstrom, Arnold Horowitz, Patrick Bertou and Rogelio Perez Perdomo.
